The decentralized oracle network Chainlink (LINK) is once again leading the pack among ERC-20 projects in terms of development activity. This insight comes from the crypto analytics platform Santiment.

According to Santiment's recent update on X, Chainlink recorded an impressive 649.03 notable GitHub events in the past 30 days. That’s nearly double the activity of the second-ranked project, Ethereum (ETH), which logged 342.2 events.

Chainlink has consistently topped the charts, having also led in June, July, and September. Meanwhile, the web3 project Status (SNT) came in third, with 270.57 events during the same period. Status aims to provide users with a secure messaging app, a crypto wallet, and a web3 browser through an open-source, peer-to-peer protocol with end-to-end encryption.

Just to clarify, an ERC-20 project is a standard that developers use to issue tokens on the Ethereum blockchain and virtual machine.

Santiment emphasizes that they don’t count routine updates in their metrics. They use a “better methodology” for gathering data on GitHub events, which is based on a “backtested process.” This helps ensure accuracy.

Heavy development activity around a crypto project often signals that developers believe in its potential. It also suggests that the project is less likely to be an exit scam.

As of now, LINK is trading at $11.11. It ranks 18th by market cap and has seen a decline of over 6% in the last 24 hours.
