Coinbase just announced an exciting partnership with the Los Angeles Clippers. This deal, unveiled on Friday, will enhance fan engagement at the Clippers' new $2 billion arena, the Intuit Dome.

This partnership is set to last for several years. Fans can look forward to exclusive experiences, limited-edition merchandise, and unique digital and physical collectibles. While the financial details remain under wraps, the benefits are clear.

A representative from Coinbase mentioned, “We aim to leverage this partnership to educate and engage the Clippers' fan base about blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.” The goal is simple: provide a fun and safe way for fans to explore the potential of these technologies and encourage their adoption.

To kick things off, Coinbase will offer new and existing users $5 in Bitcoin (BTC) and special benefits throughout the season for creating a Coinbase account.

You’ll see Coinbase branding prominently displayed inside the Intuit Dome, marking the Clippers' first season in their new home.

The Clippers have a history with cryptocurrency, having previously played at Crypto.com Arena alongside the Lakers and the WNBA’s Sparks.

Coinbase also maintains sponsorships with the NBA and WNBA. They’ve partnered with other major sports leagues too, including a recent deal with the Canadian Football League and a renewed agreement with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Plus, they sponsor the Golden State Warriors, as announced last October.

This surge in sponsorships from Coinbase highlights a growing trend in the sports world. New crypto sponsorship deals have skyrocketed over 200% this year compared to 2023, according to a September report from CoinGecko.
