The founder of SlowMist, a blockchain security firm, has a crucial message for crypto traders. Be careful with copying and pasting sensitive information.

Known as Evilcos, he recently shared his thoughts with his 81,300 followers on X. He emphasizes the importance of clearing your clipboard right after copying sensitive data on your iPhone.

“With iPhone, the chances of someone stealing your clipboard contents are much lower,” he explains. “Any app that wants to access your clipboard will prompt you for permission before pasting.” This simple habit can help you feel more secure.

However, he warns about using computers for sensitive information. “If you need to copy sensitive data on your computer, I wish you the best,” he says. “As long as your computer is online, there are countless ways for your information to be stolen.”

Evilcos also highlights the risks of not using hardware wallets for crypto transactions. “If you’re into crypto and your computer isn’t set up with a hardware wallet or an iPhone wallet for verification, it’s just a matter of time before your money is gone,” he cautions.

While he admits that “there’s no absolute safety,” he encourages traders to take small steps to boost their security. Simple actions can make a big difference.
