The Dutch regulator, AFM, has given the green light to ZBD, which was formerly known as Zebedee. This approval allows ZBD to receive a MiCA license, enabling it to operate throughout the European Union.
ZBD is a payment platform that uses the Bitcoin Lightning network. With this new license, they can offer a wide range of crypto custody and exchange services across the EU. This is a significant step for the company.
ZBD submitted its application back in April. Once MiCA takes effect on December 30, you’ll be able to see the official list of licensed applicants on the AFM’s website.
Countries like the Netherlands are preparing for MiCA’s full implementation. However, many other EU nations are still working on passing the necessary laws for MiCA to take effect in their areas.
