An investment firm founder has a warning for women in the crypto space: “Please be vigilant.” This comes after serious accusations against a partner at Singapore-based DWF Labs. He allegedly drugged a job applicant and tried to lure her to his hotel room after offering her a job in a crypto project.

Dovey Wan, the founder of Primitive Ventures, shared her thoughts on X (formerly Twitter). She reacted to claims made by a job candidate who says that during a meeting in a Hong Kong bar, Euguen Ng, one of DWF Labs’ founders, tried to spike her drink.

The applicant, known as “Hana,” reported that after leaving the bar, she felt dizzy. At that point, Ng allegedly tried to convince her to go to his place, saying, “I’ll take you to get a taxi. I have a suite in Murray. If you treat me well, I can give you more inside information.”

Following these allegations, DWF Labs fired Ng and has reportedly brought in a new partner. Ng has since made his X account private and seems to have deleted it altogether.

On her X account, Wan expressed her outrage. She described her past encounters with Ng in Singapore, where he came off as a gentleman. However, she added, “The fact that after failing his attempt in HK, he shamelessly went to Dubai for another crypto conference, socializing as if nothing happened, likely hunting for his next target. This screams repeat criminal behavior to me.”

Wan cautioned, “Ladies, please be vigilant. The hidden risks are very real. Some of these crypto bros embody the most predatory aspects of tech and finance cultures, treating women they see as ‘huntable’ with unpredictable crimes.”

In an interview with Wu Blockchain published on Thursday, Hana recounted her experience. She described her narrow escape and how she worked to expose the attack. “The police said I was very lucky and could tell he was a repeat offender — very skilled,” she told Wu Blockchain Editor-in-Chief Colin Wu.

“Unfortunately, because I didn’t report it on the day, there was no physical evidence,” she explained. The police advised her to be careful, saying, “Disclosing the footage might involve an invasion of personal privacy.”

Hana added, “After I posted on Twitter, Eugene contacted me, saying, ‘Let me know if you’re up to chat.’ He sent a few similar messages and called me several times, which I didn’t answer.”
