A crypto whale, who got in on the ground floor during Ethereum's initial coin offering (ICO), has made a big splash this year. They've sent a whopping 48,687 ETH to the crypto exchange Kraken, which is worth around $171.78 million.

According to data from on-chain analyst Ember, this whale has been busy. They transferred a lot of ETH recently, averaging about $3,528 per coin. This whale originally collected 200,000 ETH from the genesis block back in 2015.

However, their stash is running low. Ember reports that only 7,594 ETH remains, valued at about $25.72 million. It looks like this whale will be out of ETH soon, likely in just one or two more sales.

In another interesting development, the blockchain tracking firm Lookonchain found an Ethereum genesis wallet that had been inactive for nearly a decade. This wallet woke up and transferred a tiny amount, just 0.01 ETH, to a new address. This participant had received 1,940 ETH during the ICO for only $601. Now, that ETH is worth around $6.56 million.

As of now, Ethereum is trading at $3,356. That's a staggering increase of about 1,082,480% from its ICO price of just $0.31.
