KOR Protocol has just launched a new decentralized music streaming service called KOR Player. This platform lets users remix music with a variety of tools. It includes a robust “sound library” and an authentication service for intellectual property.

Backed by Animoca Brands, KOR Protocol is looking to shake things up in the entertainment industry. Some well-known DJs, like Joel Zimmerman, who goes by deadmau5, along with Plastkman, Inder Phull, Ben Turner, and Dean Wilson, have joined as early supporters.

The KOR Player allows users to play and remix music. Artists can upload their samples to a secure vault for intellectual property. Plus, the platform uses artificial intelligence to verify music authenticity and handle royalty payments in cryptocurrency.

KOR Protocol aims to clear up confusion around music copyright laws. It addresses the use of unlicensed intellectual property in various media, such as video games, live streams, and esports broadcasts. The goal is to give artists and labels new ways to reach fans and monetize their work.

According to the startup, they’ve already hit 550,000 user signups. They also have support from KDDI, a major telecommunications company in Japan. Animoca Brands has previously invested in successful projects like Yuga Labs, Axie Infinity, Polygon, Consensys, and Magic Eden, among others.
