New data from Polymarket shows that Donald Trump is currently leading Kamala Harris in the race for the 2024 presidential election. This shift comes after Robert Kennedy Jr. suspended his campaign.

As it stands, Trump has a 51% chance of winning, while Harris, who recently became the Democratic nominee after Joe Biden stepped down, now sits at 48%.

This market operates on a simple premise. It will resolve to “Yes” if Trump wins the election. If he doesn’t, it will resolve to “No.” The results will be based on reports from three major news outlets: the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. The market will conclude once all three declare the same winner. If they can’t agree by the inauguration date on January 20, 2025, it will go with whoever is inaugurated.

So far, over $705 million has been wagered on this election through Polymarket. Kennedy, a Democrat running as an independent, recently announced his campaign suspension after polling at just 2%. He has since endorsed Trump.

In July, bettors thought there was a 60% chance that Biden would remain in office for the rest of his term, even after he dropped out and endorsed Harris. Before he exited the race on July 21, the market had predicted a 35% chance of his withdrawal.
