Samsung has just launched its new Galaxy S25 smartphones, and they come packed with AI features. What's interesting is that these devices use only Qualcomm chips. This marks a shift since they don't include Samsung's own Exynos processors. It's a bit of a setback for Samsung's chip business.
During an event in California, Samsung also showcased a thinner version of its flagship models. They're planning to release the Galaxy S25 Edge in the first half of this year. This move aims to get ahead of Apple's upcoming slimmer iPhone.
Even though Samsung was quick to introduce an AI-powered smartphone, it struggled to regain its top spot in the global smartphone market last year. Competition from Apple in the premium segment and from Chinese brands in the budget range put a lot of pressure on them.
Park Ji-sun, who leads Samsung’s Language AI team, expressed confidence, saying, “We are one step ahead of the industry in terms of offering AI features. I believe we are going in the right direction.” This was reported by Reuters.
As for pricing, the Galaxy S25 series remains steady, with prices ranging from $799 to $1,299. Samsung is keeping things straightforward for consumers.
