The top trending cryptocurrencies as of October 25 are different from those we saw in the past few days. Two altcoins are making a return, while one new player is linked to the Telegram messaging app.

It's important to understand that just because these altcoins are trending, it doesn't mean their prices will go up. They might be popular for various reasons. Right now, the leading three trending altcoins on CoinGecko are Goatseus Maximus (GOAT), Notcoin (NOT), and Scroll (SCR).

Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) has been in the spotlight largely due to the AI+ meme coin trend. But there's more to the story. Recently, Binance listed GOAT on the futures market, which caused its price to soar to a new all-time high. Despite this excitement, GOAT's price has dropped by 24% in the last 24 hours. It seems that holders are starting to take profits.

After the Binance announcement, GOAT hit $0.88. Now, it's down to $0.65. Looking at the 4-hour chart, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator has fallen into negative territory. This is a key tool for spotting trends. A positive MACD suggests bullish momentum, while a negative one indicates bearish movement.

If the MACD stays negative, we might see GOAT's price drop to $0.58. However, if investors decide to buy the dip in large amounts, the price could bounce back to $0.90.

Notcoin (NOT) is the new kid on the block, linked to Telegram. Similar to how Toncoin was trending yesterday, NOT is gaining attention as users look forward to upcoming airdrops. But there’s a catch: Notcoin's price has fallen 74% from its all-time high, showing that buying pressure is waning.

On the daily chart, Notcoin has formed a head and shoulders pattern and has dropped below the neckline. This could signal a continuation of its downward trend. In this case, NOT's price might slide to $0.0071. On the flip side, if the bulls push the price above the neckline at $0.0077, we could see a rebound. In that case, Notcoin might rise to $0.010 or even $0.012.

Scroll (SCR) is making its second appearance on the trending altcoin list since its launch this week. The project stirred some controversy during its launch, which continues to fuel its trendiness.

SCR started at $1.45 but has since dropped to $0.85, reflecting a loss of about 40% since it debuted. An analysis of the 1-hour chart shows that the Awesome Oscillator (AO) has dipped into negative territory. This suggests that momentum for SCR remains bearish, and the price might fall below $0.85 in the short term. However, if market conditions improve or if we enter an altcoin season, there’s a chance for a price reversal.
